Vendor/Supplier Managed Inventory (VMI/SMI)

VMI or SMI is a simple approach to efficient materials supply. The supplier takes responsibility to ensure that an optimum amount of material is available in the customer's warehouse. The supplier no longer waits for the customer's orders but manages supply himself.

The supplier is given access to customer data relevant for planning (demands, consumption, inventories) via a browser-based solution. The supplier can thus act early to better align production with future demand. The customer in turn benefits from reduced workloads since additional order processes are no longer necessary. This solution enables both sides to detect potential shortages early and to eliminate them. The result: flawless, efficient production as well as reduced cost of inventories and transportation.
