ICON Implement: Systems Implementation via Proven Methodology

In all our implementation projects we apply a time-tested methodology. This is the basis for successful projects and contains clear specifications for the execution of the different project phases.

Before stepping into the project we make sure to establish the project office, to clarify the roles and responsibilities and to define the project plan including five major milestones. The kick-off meeting will lead into the mapping phase whose goal is to jointly specify the business processes and the system in detail. Having passed the first milestone “Design and Mapping Complete”, we continue with the configuration and integration phase that will result in a functioning system. Based on the milestone “Configurations and Integrations Complete” we ensure a thorough and end-to-end validation of business and IT processes. Now the “System is ready for Go Live”. The next milestone is achieved once users and IT personal have finished training and are prepared for Go Live. After a successful move to production and a complete system and support handover the project closes with its last milestone upon reception of the customer sign off.

ICON does not just implement a system but focuses on the user. We know from experience that beyond functional issues the acceptance of a system is critical for the success of a project. Therefore, ICON has developed a training and certification concept to involve users at a very early stage. During the implementation phase we continuously involve users in workshops and training. Since the handling of ICON-SCM is quite intuitive we can focus on supporting business processes and their implications on planning results. The users not only understand how to execute a certain task, but also what this action implies. Only this process understanding ensures the sustainable success of the project.
